Going on a vacation this summer? Make sure you have a Melissa & Doug Trunki ready before you start packing for your trip! We are making plans to take a week long trip with our kids later this summer and we also hope to take a trip to Taiwan either later this year or beginning of next year, so we definitely have vacations on our minds. We have traveled internationally with DD in the past, so we have some experiences on how to pack properly for kids. This time around, though, we will have 2 kids to keep busy and entertained while we are waiting at the airports, in the plane as well as for the car rides.The last time we traveled with DD to Taiwan, I had a huge hiking backpack for all of her basic essentials -- since the flight to Taiwan was 13 hours long. Plus the wait time at the airports and then the car ride from the airports to my aunt's house in Taiwan, it was literally 24 hours from when we left our house to when we arrived at our destination. In my backpack, I had her portable DVD player, lots of DVDs, snacks, diapers, toys, change of clothes, a book for me, my wallet and our passports. This time around, DD will be in charge of handling her own toys (plus some of baby G's toys too).
Trunki is a little luggage that is made for kids. Besides the fact that it is cute and you can personalized it, it is also great for traveling. Although we are not leaving for our trip yet, DD was so excited about her new luggage, we just had to test it out.
Here's DD with her new Trunki. We decided to get something that's gender neutral so that after DD outgrow it, baby G could use it too. We loaded Trunki with her favorite toys and had her pull it all over the house.
Then we had DD sit on it so we could see if it was too heavy for us to pull. It was not. DD loved sitting on it as we pulled the luggage. She was a bit too tall for it, but she was smart enough to keep her feet off the ground so we could pull it easily.
She was really proud of herself that she could lift it up all by herself. I hope that she really will be able to look after her own luggage during our trip.

Melissa and Doug was really generously. The company also sent us accessories for our new Trunki too. We received a saddle bag and 3 sets of stickers to personalized our Trunki with.

All in all, we are really impressed with the design and quality of Trunki. DD absolutely adores it and she is very excited about packing her favorite toys in it for our trip.
There are good reasons why Melissa & Doug is one of our favorite brands. The toys they create are great quality and their products are clearly designed with kids in mind. We are huge fans of Melissa and Doug and we will continue to buy their products until we run out of space ^_^. If you are taking the kids on a summer trip or even if just want a little luggage for sleepovers at grandma's house, we recommend picking up a Trunki. Your kids will love it!
